Texas gives 34 state awards recognizing bravery, sacrifice, service, performance or achievement by service members, veterans and retired service members. Awards are recommended through the Texas Military Department rather than applied for directly.
Have your chain of command or a sponsor submit the Texas Military Department Recommendation for Award form with the supporting citation and documentation.
The completed recommendation form, a proposed citation, and documentation of the act or service being recognized, such as orders, after action reports or witness statements.
