Texas Property Tax Exemption for Partially Disabled Veterans

Local Texas county appraisal district (tax assessor or collector)
$5,000 to $12,000 of property value exempt, depending on your disability rating band

You can have part of your property value exempted from property tax, on a sliding scale set by the disability rating the VA gave you: $5,000 for a 10 to 29 percent rating, $7,500 for 30 to 49 percent, $10,000 for 50 to 69 percent and $12,000 for 70 to 99 percent. Property tax in Texas is assessed locally, so the county appraisal district grants it. If you qualify for more than one veteran property tax exemption you can only take one, so take the largest you qualify for.
