Texas State Employee Paid Leave for Military Duty

Your Texas state agency, county, municipality or political subdivision employer
15 workdays of paid military leave per fiscal year

You get 15 workdays of paid military leave each fiscal year if you work for the State of Texas, a county, a municipality or another political subdivision and serve in a reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces. While you are on that leave you lose no time, efficiency rating, personal time, sick leave or vacation time.

  • You are employed by the State of Texas, a Texas county, a municipality or another political subdivision
  • You are serving in the Texas National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves
  • You have orders for authorized training or duty
