Texas State Veterans Cemeteries

Texas General Land Office, Texas Veterans Land Board, Texas State Veterans Cemeteries
No-cost burial for veterans, their spouse and dependents

You can be buried at no charge at a Texas State Veterans Cemetery, and so can your spouse and dependents. The cemeteries are in Killeen, Mission, Corpus Christi, Abilene and Lubbock, and each one takes casketed burials, cremated remains burials, columbarium niches and scattering of cremated remains. Burial includes military honors for veterans, the grave plot, opening and closing the grave, a concrete grave liner for casketed burials, a headstone or marker, a burial flag, a presidential certificate, Taps and a gun salute, and perpetual care. Funeral home costs such as a casket, cremation, viewing, flowers and transport are not covered. There is no Texas residency requirement.
