Utah National Guard State Tuition Assistance

Utah National Guard Education Office
Up to $7,000 per fiscal year for tuition and fees

You can get up to $7,000 per fiscal year toward tuition and fees once you have used up your annual Federal Tuition Assistance, or if you are not eligible for it. It can be used at any accredited college, university or state technical school, full time or part time. Finishing a course incurs a service obligation of two years for an undergraduate degree or below, and three years for a graduate or professional degree.

Apply online through the UtahID website, following the step-by-step State Tuition Assistance instructions. For help, email the Utah National Guard Education Office at ng.ut.utarng.mbx.education-office@army.mil.

What you'll need

Proof that you are actively serving in good standing in the Utah National Guard, evidence that you have reached your Federal Tuition Assistance limit or are not eligible for it, your school enrollment details, and a signed State Tuition Assistance statement of agreement.

Eligibility

  • You are a Utah National Guard service member actively serving in good standing
  • You have reached your annual Federal Tuition Assistance limit, or you are not eligible for Federal Tuition Assistance
  • You maintain a C average for an undergraduate program or a B average for a graduate program
  • If you attend a Utah state public college full time at 12 to 18 credit hours, you have applied for the State Tuition Waiver first
