Utah Veteran First Time Homebuyer Grant Program

$2,500 grant toward your first home

You can get a $2,500 grant toward buying your first home in Utah. You have to move into the home as your primary residence within 30 days of signing the mortgage closing documents.

How to apply

Apply through your lender: any lender licensed to do business in Utah can issue the grant, and they should refer to the Utah Housing Corporation website for the funding reservation checklist. What you'll need

Your DD214 showing separation within the last five years, or your VA Home Loan Certificate of Eligibility if you are still serving, and your mortgage application paperwork.

Eligibility

  • You are a first-time homebuyer buying a home in Utah
  • You separated from the U.S. Armed Forces within the last five years, or you are currently serving and eligible for a VA Home Loan Certificate of Eligibility
  • You will occupy the home as your primary residence within 30 days of the mortgage closing
  • You get your mortgage from a lender licensed to do business in Utah
