Utah Veterans Tuition Gap Program

Utah System of Higher Education institutions
Up to one year of undergraduate tuition and fees

You can get up to one year of undergraduate tuition and fees if you have used all of your VA education benefits and you are in the final year of a bachelor’s degree. The money can go toward tuition, fees, books, education-related supplies and housing tuition.

How to apply

Contact the admissions office at the Utah System of Higher Education school or the private nonprofit Utah institution you attend and ask about the Veterans Tuition Gap Program.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing at least 180 days of service and an honorable discharge, or documentation of a service-connected disability if you were discharged sooner, proof of Utah residency for tuition purposes, and a statement from the VA showing your education benefits are exhausted.

Eligibility

  • You are a Utah resident for tuition purposes
  • You are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a Utah System of Higher Education school, or at a private nonprofit postsecondary institution in Utah
  • You served in the U.S. Armed Forces for at least 180 days and received an honorable discharge, or you incurred a service-connected disability and were discharged before completing 180 days
  • You have used all of your VA education benefits
  • You have not yet completed a bachelor’s degree and you are in the final year of your program
