You can skip the examination to become a Vermont Certified Inspection Mechanic if you were a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the U.S. Armed Forces and earned a qualifying Automotive Service Excellence certification while serving.

What you'll need

Documentation of your military wheeled vehicle mechanic duty and your Automotive Service Excellence certification earned while serving.

Eligibility

  • You were a wheeled vehicle mechanic while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You received an Automotive Service Excellence certification while serving as a Diesel Mechanic, in Light Truck Engine Repair, as an Automobile Service Consultant, as a Certified Hazardous Material Manager, or as an Associate Safety Professional
