Vermont High School Diplomas for Wartime Veterans

Vermont high school diploma awarded

You can be awarded a Vermont high school diploma if you left a Vermont high school before graduating in order to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II, the Korean War era or the Vietnam War era. You choose which Vermont public school issues the diploma from the list on page two of the application.

Mail the completed application to the Vermont Office of Veterans Affairs, 118 State Street, Montpelier VT 05620-4401. For help call 802-828-3379 or 888-666-9844.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing service in one of the qualifying wartime periods and an honorable discharge, and the name of the Vermont high school you left.

Eligibility

  • You left a Vermont high school before graduating in order to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You received an honorable discharge
  • You served between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946, between June 27, 1950 and January 31, 1955, between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975 outside Vietnam, or between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975 inside Vietnam
