U.S. Department of Defense SkillBridge, with Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS)

Up to six months of civilian internship while still on active duty pay

You can spend up to your last six months of service in a civilian internship in Virginia instead of your normal duties, with your commander’s approval, to build marketable skills and experience before you separate.

What you'll need

Eligibility

You are a service member within six months of separating from the U.S. Armed Forces
You have your commander’s approval to participate
You have an internship with a participating employer in Virginia
