Medical coverage and compensation for line-of-duty injury, illness, disability or death

If you are injured, become ill, become disabled or die in the line of duty as a Virginia National Guard member, you are covered for medical care and compensation under the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. The coverage applies whether you were on paid or unpaid duty, and also when you were performing voluntary service at your commander’s request.
