As a Virginia resident with a VA service-connected disability rating, you can buy lifetime hunting, freshwater fishing and trapping licences at a reduced price, or free. With a total and permanent rating, freshwater fishing and hunting are free and trapping costs $15. At 70 percent or more, freshwater fishing and hunting are $50 each. At 50 percent to less than 70 percent they are $75 each. At 30 percent to less than 50 percent they are $100 each. Only veterans rated total and permanent can buy the trapping licence.
