Virginia Sales and Use Tax Exemption on One Vehicle for Disabled Veterans

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Sales and use tax waived on one vehicle

You do not pay Virginia sales and use tax on the purchase of one vehicle if the VA rates you 100 percent service-connected total and permanently disabled. The vehicle has to be owned and used mainly by you or for you. A vehicle bought by your spouse can also qualify if it is used mainly by you or for you.
