You can have both the knowledge and the skills testing for a Washington commercial driver licence waived if you hold one of the qualifying military occupational specialties or ratings: Army 88M, 92F or 14T; Air Force 2T1, 2F0 or 3E2; Marine Corps 3531; or Navy EO. You need at least two years of commercial vehicle driving experience and to have worked in that specialty within the past year.

A completed U.S. Department of Transportation Application for Military Skills Test Waiver and a completed Washington State Military CDL Knowledge Test or Knowledge and Skills Test Waiver Application, both certified by your commanding officer, plus the documents listed on the forms.
