Military training counted toward licence requirements, and expedited licensing for military spouses

The Department of Health will count your military education, training and experience toward the licence requirements for certain entry-level health professions. If you are the spouse or domestic partner of a service member stationed in Washington, your health profession licence can be expedited.

How to apply

Look up your profession in the Department of Health A to Z Professions Directory for the specific rules, then contact the Health Systems Quality Assurance Call Center at 360-236-4700 or hsqa.csc@doh.wa.gov.

What you'll need

Documentation of your military training and experience such as a Joint Services Transcript, your DD214, and your current out-of-state licence and military ID or marriage documentation if you are applying as a spouse.

Eligibility

  • You are a service member or veteran applying for an entry-level health profession licence, or the spouse or domestic partner of a service member stationed in Washington State
  • You are applying for a licence the Department of Health issues
