You get up to 21 working days of paid military leave each fiscal year if you are a Washington state employee serving in the National Guard or a Reserve component. The leave covers required military duty, training and drills, and you are only charged leave for days you were scheduled to work. If you have to attend a physical examination for military fitness during working hours, you are paid in full for the time it takes.
Give your agency’s human resources office a copy of your military orders and request paid military leave before you go.
Your orders for the duty, training or drill, or the notice for your physical examination.
