Washington State Motorcycle Endorsement for Service Members Stationed Out of State

Motorcycle endorsement added without in-state testing

You can add a motorcycle endorsement to your Washington driver licence while stationed out of state, without coming back to test, if you finished an approved Motorcycle Safety Foundation course in the 180 days before you apply.

How to apply

Mail the Washington Motorcycle Safety Program Out of State Military Testing Waiver Request, the documents listed on the form and the fees to Washington Motorcycle Safety Program, Department of Licensing, PO Box 9048, Olympia WA 98507-9048. For help email motorcycle@dol.wa.gov or call 360-902-3674.

What you'll need

A completed waiver request form, proof you completed an approved Washington State or military motorcycle safety course, and the required fees.

Eligibility

  • You are a Washington State licensed driver serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You are stationed out of state
  • You completed an approved Motorcycle Safety Foundation course within the 180 days before you apply
