Washington State National Guard Post-Secondary Education Grant

Washington Student Achievement Council
$2,500 to $6,500 a year depending on institution type, plus a one-time allowance of up to $500 for books and supplies

You can get a grant toward education costs that other financial aid does not cover if you drill with the Washington National Guard, or if you are the dependent of a member. The grant covers undergraduate, graduate, professional and certificate study, and awards are $2,500 at two-year community and technical colleges, $3,500 at Western Governors University Washington, $4,500 for applied baccalaureate programs at community and technical colleges, $4,500 at four-year regional public institutions, and $6,500 at four-year private non-profit, for-profit and public research institutions. A one-time allowance of up to $500 for books and supplies can be added. Every year of funding carries a one-year Washington National Guard service obligation that starts after the last day of the final term of that academic year.
