You can apply for long-term nursing and assisted-living care at one of four state veterans homes: the Washington Soldiers Home, 1301 Kapowsin Highway, Orting WA 98360, phone 360-893-4515, which is the one home with a fishing pond; the Washington Veterans Home, 1141 Beach Drive E., Port Orchard WA 98366, phone 360-895-4700; the Spokane Veterans Home, 222 E. 5th Avenue, Spokane WA 99202, phone 509-344-5770; and the Walla Walla Veterans Home, 92 Wainwright Drive, Walla Walla WA 99362, phone 509-394-6800. All four are Medicare and Medicaid certified and provide physical and occupational therapy, recreational activities, social services, volunteer programmes, hospice care, meals, community involvement, religious programmes, transportation, laundry, and beauty and barber shops.

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge, proof that you live in Washington State, and the medical and financial information listed on the admission application. A spouse or Gold Star parent also needs proof of the relationship.
