You can get a West Virginia Disabled Veteran license plate if you have a 100 percent total and permanent service-connected disability rating from the VA, or a VA grant for a specially adapted vehicle. The plate is exempt from registration fees and allows free parking at metered spaces. Your unremarried surviving spouse can keep the plate until it is not renewed, or until their death.
Complete the West Virginia Application for a Disabled Veteran License Plate, have it certified by a West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance benefits office, and submit it to the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles.
