From tax year 2024, a taxpayer with federal adjusted gross income over $50,000 filing single, or over $100,000 filing jointly, can subtract 35 percent of their Social Security income, rising to 65 percent for tax year 2025 and 100 percent for tax year 2026. Taxpayers under those income thresholds can subtract all of their Social Security income.
