Wisconsin State Employment Veterans Hiring Preference

Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Personnel Management
10, 15 or 20 points added to a passing score, depending on your status

You get points added to your passing score when you apply for Wisconsin state jobs that use a competitive exam or rating. Veterans get 10 points, disabled veterans rated under 30 percent get 15 points, disabled veterans rated over 30 percent get 20 points, the spouse of a veteran rated 70 percent or higher gets 10 points, and an unremarried surviving spouse of a veteran killed in action or who died from a service-connected disability gets 10 points. For positions with no competitive exam, your name is added to the list of eligible applicants. The preference applies to initial employment only.
