You can have your farm certified as veteran-owned, use a distinctive logo to promote it, and be listed in the Wisconsin Veteran-Owned Farms directory so customers can find you.

How to apply

Apply online at the Wisconsin Veteran Farmer Assistance and Outreach certification webpage, or submit a completed WDVA Veteran Farmer Assistance and Outreach Program Request for Certification with a copy of your DD214 to WDVA, Division of Veterans Benefits, 2135 Rimrock Road, PO Box 7843, Madison WI 53707-7843, email Records@dva.wisconsin.gov. For help, call 800-WIS-VETS (800-947-8387).

What you'll need

A copy of your DD214, and casualty or death documentation if you are an immediate family member applying because the veteran died in service, was declared missing in action, or died of a service-connected disability.

Eligibility

  • You operate a farm in Wisconsin
  • You received an honorable discharge after 90 or more days of active duty during a wartime period, active duty in a crisis zone, at least two years of active duty or your full initial service obligation, or a discharge before you met the time in service requirement because of a service-connected disability, hardship or a reduction in force
  • If you are applying as an immediate family member, the veteran died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, was declared missing in action, or died of a service-connected disability
