You can have your business certified as veteran-owned and use the WDVA logo to promote it. Certified businesses may also get preference when bidding on Wisconsin state contracts.

How to apply

Submit a completed WDVA Veteran-owned Business Request for Certification with the documentation listed on it to WDVA, Attn. Veterans Benefit Resource Center, 2135 Rimrock Road, PO Box 7843, Madison WI 53707-7843. For help, call 800-WIS-VETS (800-947-8387) or email WisVets@dva.wisconsin.gov.

What you'll need

Your DD214, proof of your ownership share in the business, and gross annual sales figures, along with anything else listed on the application.

Eligibility

Your business has less than $1,500,000 in gross annual sales
Your business is at least 51 percent owned by one or more veterans
You meet the definition of a veteran in Wisconsin Statutes 45.01
