Wisconsin Veterans Retraining Grant

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA)
Up to $3,000 per year for a maximum of two years

If you are recently unemployed or underemployed and have a financial need, you can get up to $3,000 a year for up to two years while you are retrained for work. WDVA calculates the amount from your financial need, and counts any other education or retraining grants you receive, so list them on your application.

  • You are recently unemployed or underemployed
  • You have a financial need as WDVA calculates it
  • You are a Wisconsin resident now and were a resident when you entered active duty, or you have been a Wisconsin resident for at least 12 consecutive months before applying
