You do not have to produce a certificate of competency and safety in handling firearms when you buy a Wyoming hunting license, if you serve or served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Submit a completed Wyoming Game and Fish Department hunter safety exemption application, and show your current military ID or your DD214 when you buy your license.

What you'll need

A completed hunter safety exemption application, plus either your current military ID card or your DD214 showing an honorable discharge.

Eligibility

  • You are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, or you received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You are buying a Wyoming hunting license
