You can get a financial grant for hardship or an emergency directly related to state or federal active duty service. The fund also reimburses dependent care costs you incur while performing military duty in any status, for up to 39 calendar days each calendar year.

How to apply

Mail or hand-deliver your completed application to the Wyoming Military Department, Soldier and Family Support, 5410 Bishop Boulevard, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Every application is forwarded to your unit for consideration, so expect your chain of command to be involved.

What you'll need

A completed grant application, documentation of the hardship or emergency and how it relates to your active duty service, and receipts for dependent care if you are claiming that reimbursement.

Eligibility

  • You serve in the Wyoming National Guard or a U.S. Armed Forces Reserve unit based in Wyoming and have been called to state or federal active duty, or you are a Wyoming resident serving in a reserve component unit based elsewhere and called to state or federal active duty, or you are a Wyoming resident serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, or you are a dependent family member of one of those service members
  • Your hardship or emergency is directly related to state or federal active duty service
